The National Commission for the Promotion of Equality would like to clarify some points regarding reports on media on “discrimination” against female lawyers.

The main message conveyed to all journalists by the executive director of NCPE was that the inclusion of such a paragraph (Art 25 – LN 279 of 2008) is a reflection of a cultural mentality where stereotypes are perpetuated.

For NCPE, it is more of a concern the fact that the said document speaks of “advocates” and “lady advocates”. In professional life, gender is irrelevant.
