Violent Crime

Malta Independent Monday, 22 December 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 19 years ago

So now we are scared to go to Marsa because of crime. Let’s see now, Malta takes in these irregular migrants, house them, feed them, clothe them etc and after all that, they are committing crimes against innocent Maltese citizens. Today they take over Marsa, what city is next?

Guess what, it is happening to us, this was stated by police inspector Silvio Valletta. Who is going to be the next victim? We all feel for these people but when they start committing crime against innocent Maltese citizens, it’s time to take some kind of a different approach.

One of the thugs that attacked the man when he stopped to buy a coke at Marsa got a jail sentence of six months suspended for a year. I wonder who foot the bill for his defence (the Maltese tax payer ), and what good is a jail sentence if it is suspended for a year? What is Malta going to do next summer when these migrants start arriving again by the boat loads? When is the EU going to take up this issue seriously? Malta needs help with this problem now, waiting for the future might be a bit late.
