An Admission, at least

I am glad that Mr Camilleri (TMID, 7 January) admits he is shortsighted, though, he writes, not as much as I think. In fact, he is not only shortsighted, he seems also to lack understanding. Otherwise, why would he ask whether we should base everything on what the British do or think, when I agreed in my letter with the switch to the euro.

No, I never worked for the British, and I do not think that all they do is right and what we do is wrong. The Brits are doing a lot that is wrong, in fact, and perhaps it is our government which is imitating them, for it is getting nothing right at present.

And, yes, his letter was full of praise for the government. As shown by his hope that the Labour Party has learned its lesson.
