‘Conjugated Vocabulary Of the Maltese Language’ to be published

Malta Independent Monday, 12 January 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Millions of Maltese words that make up the Maltese language vocabulary have been collected into 85 volumes of some 1,000 pages each entitled The Conjugated Vocabulary of the Maltese Language.

The vocabulary includes all nouns, adjectives, adverbs, verbs in the singular masculine third person as found in the dictionary as well as each word conjugated from the infinitive.

Compiled by Karistu Abela, the volume seeks to present all words in the Maltese language in an organised and systematic manner and written according to grammatical and orthographical rules as established by the National Council for the Maltese Language.

This work may be used as a complete reference tool for students, teachers, researchers and all those who have the Maltese language at heart and is being described as “the largest book ever written in the history of humanity”.

Due to the extent of the work, one volume will be published per month starting from spring 2009 and the whole collection is expected to be published by the year 2016.

The edition will be numbered and only copies booked before printing works start on the first volume will be delivered.

Each volume costs e65 for hard bound copies or e55 for soft bound copies and must be paid on delivery.
