This is part of a letter James Borg of Sliema, wrote to Café Jubilee:

“...We have lived in the UK for some time and lightheartedly regularly complain and moan about the things we miss from home, mainly the weather, the food and of course the people! My nephew who was the victim of much jest about his obsessive photographing repaid us with his teasing image (of a Café Jubilee logo in central London) – a direct response to moaning about not being able to get any decent bread in the UK!

This afternoon (Tuesday, the day when the said photo was published in The Malta Independent) my sister-in-law contacted me to say that they had also seen the article and felt terrible as they had encouraged their son’s actions... which now having looked at his photo album include a number of Maltese icons, including cans of Kinnie, a luzzu on the Thames and a Maltese Flag over Buckingham Palace! I understand the image featuring Cafe Jubilee was a concoction of his “art” work and an image from the internet.

I felt compelled to write and offer my sincere apologies as I have been duped by a 16-year-old boy, more playful than mischievous. I can assure you he is dedicated to his studies, very creative and well-behaved. I am genuinely disappointed that you are not opening in London and want you to know that we have enjoyed many early evenings in your bar in Valletta – I guess for now we will have to wait until our next visit in the summer. Well done for your continued service and perhaps I will have an opportunity to buy you a drink in a small effort to re-assure you of my apology.”
