A comedy by Alan Ayckbourn at the Manoel Theatre

There is more than just one skeleton in the cupboard…potentially three, not to mention Julian’s poor mother…and Poopay, a dominatrix by profession and a sexual consultant by definition, who stumbles on a very unlikely secret that will catapult her life beyond the realms of time and logic.

The confession of a dying and remorseful, corrupt businessman, played by Barry Calvert and a mysterious cupboard in an exclusive five star hotel suite, trigger a sequence of events that link together three women across 40 years by murder most foul. Can the past be rewritten? Can the present be changed?

Communicating Doors is the hilarious and imaginative science fiction thriller by the Alan Ackybourne being staged at the Manoel Theatre today and tomorrow January by Maleth Theatre Company with Salvu Mallia as the director.

Poopay, played by Irene Christ, is the reluctant heroine that gets caught up in this mind-boggling situation.

She is joined in her incredible adventure across time by the strong willed Ruella played by Lilian Pace. Can they convince the newly wed Jessica played by Isabel Jakobsen that her life is in great danger?

Can they stop Julian, played by Stefan Farrugia, from his murderous rampage? Harold Palmer, the nosey hotel detective played by Ray Mangion thinks he has it all worked out, but this time, time is bound to play some very funny tricks.
