I refer to my letter regarding the removal of the sleeping policemen from Naxxar Square (Bring back the bumps, TMIS, 4 January).

Naxxar local council has now replied to my request for justification of their decision. It has confirmed that, while it agrees that the sleeping policemen are necessary in the square in order to reduce the danger to pedestrians, the bumps have been removed on the order of the ADT.

Will the ADT justify its decision, and inform the general public if it is its policy to order the removal of all sleeping policemen from the Maltese islands, and not just from Naxxar Square?
