Before the election, when the transport ministry was under the responsibility of Jesmond Mugliett, we regularly heard about road upgrading projects.

The minister kept touring village after village, town after town, explaining what had been done and what is being planned to upgrade the road network and resurface roads that needed seeing to.

The election was won by the Nationalist Party and the responsibility of roads fell onto the lap of minister Austin Gatt.

Yet, other than the controversial road at Ghadira, we have heard very little about what is going on and what the government is planning.

Have any funds been allotted to roads? Can the government say which roads have been built and which others have been resurfaced in the past months?

I am sure that the media would have reported any visits made by Dr Gatt, if there had been any. I wonder what is happening.
