J. Cassar (TMID, 2 Feb) is obviously hurt by Daphne Caruana Galizia’s article No, the end isn’t nigh of 29 January.

In the article Ms Caruana Galizia, among other things questioned Dr Muscat’s abilities as well as his predecessors.

J. Cassar asked the question: “Is it possible that Labour always get it wrong and the Nationalists are always right?”

While conceding that the Nationalists are not always right (otherwise they would be infallible), may I ask J. Cassar to list all which Labour got right between 1971 and 1987 and between 1996-1998? I bet it would be a rather short list!

So, I conclude that while the Nationalists got most things right, Labour got most things wrong, otherwise they would not be languishing in opposition for so many consecutive terms under three different leaders, two of whom were not elected but rather co-opted to Parliament.

But to be fair, they did one thing right – they helped appoint Dr George Abela as Malta’s next President. Prosit.
