They say that Xarabank is the most viewed programme in Malta, but it is surely not because of me. I do try to watch it, but I change channels when I start to think that I am in a titotla full of people holding forth, regardless of the fact that they do not fully understand the subject.

Last Friday’s programme (30 January) was not like that, but to me it was the most disgusting presentation I have ever seen, presented and directed by the usual Peppi Azzopardi of Where’s Everybody. The programme was about homosexuality and the teachings of the Catholic Church. Peppi chose a panel of five people that included two homosexuals, one hard-core gay sympathizer, a confessed atheist, and a priest – one priest against four, plus most of the audience. This priest was no other than Dun Anton Gouder, who as usual was as solid as a rock in his arguments, even though he was outnumbered. Mgr Gouder kept me watching to the end.

Three days later, I watched Bondiplus presented by another member of Where’s Everybody. This time Mr Bondi had another guest, Fr Rene Camilleri, another solid rock. In my view Mr Bondi tried to trip him up several times, but without success.

In my opinion the Broadcasting Authority should see about this thing when these programmes are presented on State TV. If I am correct, it is not the first time that it cancelled a presentation because there was no balanced view. What about this one Mr Broadcasting Authority?
