It seems no one understands what hassle residents go through each time they want to leave or enter their homes. This happens only in Triq Santu Wistin in Swieqi.

If residents call the wardens, they ask to call the police station hoping to get somewhere, but whoever answered my call on this particular Sunday afternoon, just said, “I’m the only policeman here, everyone is out on call, wait an hour or so…” Is this the only time that one person was available?

This person didn’t even have the decency to ask what the problem was. Is this the way it’s suppose to be? Do residents seriously have to wait an hour to get home safely and have their cars parked in their own garage?

Apart from all this, we have this famous camera, which has been fixed to a pole for many years and has never functioned! How can one expect to co-operate and vote at election times if nothing is done to safeguard the general public?

This is ridiculous; we do live in a Third World country!!
