Renzo Piano And the lightness of buildings

From L. F. Cassar

In reaction to the article with the above heading (TMIS 1 February 2009), I would say ignore the sceptics and get on with the project, while being grateful that somebody like Renzo Piano is available to work on this.

Look at the way this country has developed architecturally over the last decades and you have your answer as to which direction we should be taking; consider how shamefully long this site, smack in the heart of the capital city, has looked like a disused quarry, and, again, you have your answer. Finally, bear in mind that this country is full of self-appointed so-called experts and armchair critics, whose only speciality is that of lurking in the gloominess of their sad existence, stirring from professional lifelessness only to pounce, vengefully, on somebody else’s ingenuity.

Pay no heed to self-righteousness and bring in a breath of fresh air. Let’s, for once, be doers not dreamers!!
