In replying to my media statement, WasteServ failed to mention one important factor – the stockpiling of carcasses at the Marsa abattoir due to the stoppage of the incinerator.

While I have no qualms about routine maintenance stoppages, I have reason to believe that in this particular case what could have started off as a mere routine maintenance stoppage of one week actually took three whole weeks due to technical complications.

Under these circumstances I sincerely feel that my query and statement were both justified.
