On Saturday Marsa C.C were to take on Melita C.C in the winter league. Both teams were ready to start after a delayed start due to ground conditions.
As soon as the Marsa opening batsmen were ready to go out to the centre, the heavens opened up again and the game was not played due to rain.
After evading losing a game to rain in January, this time the game could not even start. The points will be split by both teams, three points each. Marsa now have 11 points from four games and are sitting second on the ladder behind Krishna C.C who have 22 points from three games. Melita earned their first points in the competition.
This result has not helped the Marsa team who were eager to win the game to close the gap from Krishna. Marsa only have two more games to play while Krishna have three.
Next weekend the Marsa C.C take on returning touring team Mezica C.C from Slovenia who will be on their second tour. Their last tour was last October where the local team won the series two to nil.
On Saturday the academy/nursery will be from 9.30am till 11.30am.
