From Ms B. Bode
Apparently suffering the debilitating effects of the hyper-energized political process, newspaper-paid pundette, Daphne Caruana Galizia, decries her weakened state. She laments that her power over politicians has been wrested from her by FAA’s sleek, silver-tongued crusader. “Astrid Vella, Astrid Vella, all I hear is Astrid Vella, from the moment that I get up till shades of night are falling, there isn’t any let up, I hear them calling calling...”
“The man who is delegated to speak on my behalf...” fumes the feckless fury, “failed to consult me as to how I wish him to vote”. “Instead he consulted Astrid Vella.”
“I find it hurtful that Pullicino Orlando, by his actions, helped those who went out of their way to crucify him, foremost among them ... Astrid Vella of the Eff Ay Ay, and caused a great deal of upset to those (like me) who got him through that terrible time.”
“So how did it happen?” she asks rhetorically. “In anthropological terms, Astrid Vella is a folk leader. ... They emerge in undeveloped societies. But we are no longer peasants. Or are we?”
Answering her own question, what is pundette Daphne’s thoughtful advice? Prevaricate.
“Next time an out-of-control Astrid ... claim(s) that she speaks on your behalf, do as I have done, and object. Even if you agree with what she is saying, you should object as a matter of principle.”
With a clear conscience...
