Last Friday, Table Tennis Nursery cadet player Jurgen Sammut (right) obtained a positive result in the national under 13 category by reaching the semi-finals of the competition.

Jurgen who is an attacking left handed player remained calm in all his encounters some of which had some exciting exchange of rallies.

This was his second debut on a national level. The first time he had played in the under 15 group which proved slightly tougher.

At nine years of age he felt comfortable and confident in last Friday’s competition and the Nursery directors are acknowledging his progress.

Daniel Said, Joshua Pulis and Alessandro Grech also participated, all three showing signs of improvement at competition level.

Micheala Scerri was not available this time to play in the girls’ category; however her progress will definitely stimulate other young female players attending coaching at TTN.
