F1 Forum 2009 – Another success chapter

Malta Independent Saturday, 7 March 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

The Westin Dragonara Resort once more was the venue for this year’s F1 Forum, an event which last Sunday was attended by some 200 people all with one scope to gear up for the F1 2009 season which will commence at the end of this month.

Once more F1 journalist Pierre Vella, prepared a well staged presentation for the event and this year was no exception with a very special speaker, coming from Red Bull Technology, Andrew Sammut Alessi, Head Aerodynamic Design.

Outside, even though the weather was cloudy and horrible, some exhibits made it to the event from a selection from Group 6 and Group 5, pertaining to the ICC and two brand new Volvo FH trucks belonging to the Vella Brothers Group; alongside was also the EVS SISU Racing truck.

Pierre Vella started proceeding with a look at the teams, race calendar and new regulations, Noel Farrugia, Chief Executive Director of Britannia Tours, launched their F1 2009 tour calendar with some new GP destinations.

Andrew Sammut Alessi, Head Aerodynamic Design Red Bull Technology, (photo) later gave a breath taking talk about the 2009 regulations and how these were transcribed in to the 2009 F1 car, clearly illustrating the work involved and the dedication with one ambition to win. He ably described the work involved in simple terms making all those present appreciate even more the work involved in designing an F1 car.

At the close of the F1 Forum, Franco Alosio, Senior Manger Communications, from GO, presented a lucky winner, Kevin Monreal, a three month subscription to GO Plus TV with Gold+ and Sports+

HSBC, Chempro, Britannia Tours, PhotoCity and GO were all given thanks for all their support and for making it all happen.
