If the government were as generous with taxpayers as The Malta Independent has been with Tourism Parliamentary Secretary Mario de Marco, we would all be millionaires.

I mean, for Dr Mario de Marco to send in a long-winded 1,600-word contribution (TMID, 6 March) in reply to a 600-word editorial is overdoing it, rather, isn’t it?

I know most politicians have the gift of the gab, but for them to think we also want their “words of wisdom” in writing is a bit too much. They should come down to earth.
