Your editorial Jose Herrera and smoking (TMID, 24 March) stunned me! The utter disregard and total disrespect of the law by this man, a lawyer and an MP nonetheless, is despicable.

The inaction by the Law Courts Administration, the Police Commissioner, the Justice Ministry as well as the party he represents, is inexcusable.

Can we now expect that he will be prosecuted in accordance with the law? Surely there is ample evidence to proceed. And dare we expect an explanation?

Shame on Dr Herrera and shame on all who allowed him to get away with it.
