The Malta Hospice Movement is organising a conference entitled End-of-Life Care on 23 and 24 October. This conference will be held for all healthcare professionals to promote palliative care for patients suffering from life-limiting illness. The aims are:

• to increase awareness of palliative care among healthcare professionals;

• to highlight the importance of palliative care in most diseases;

• to empower healthcare professionals to care for patients especially in the final phases of life; and

• to continue promoting educational activities as a means of increasing the standards of palliative care.
