I really don’t know how Minister Dalli can say that there is no need to buy medicine three years in advance because prices are going down. Only a few weeks ago I had to buy the painkillers Distalgesic, which are the only ones I’m not allergic to, and their price had practically doubled in a matter of weeks.

I’ve been buying Distalgesic for several years and the last time I got them in January they still cost €4.40 for a box of 100. Now they are being sold in the more practical 20 per box for those who only need a few at a time. However, they now cost €1.69 which means 100 tablets cost €8.45 – nearly a 100 per cent increase in a matter of weeks.

I really would be grateful if someone can tell me whether there is any kind of control on the price of medicine or not.
