With reference to the news item titled “Floriana to erect a monument to its founder” (TMID, 7 April) kindly allow me to point out that 17th century Italian military engineer Pietro Paolo Floriani (1585-1638) was not Floriana’s founder since Floriana’s founder was Order of St John Grand Master Antonio Manoel de Vilhena (1663-1736).
