Basketball at KMS Skolasport is becoming more popular. A mixed group of 40 boys and girls aged between 11 and 14, practice basketball on Saturday mornings at the Marsa Sports Complex. The players are training under the direction of the Italian Coach of the National Men Team of the Malta Basketball Association Bruno Di Pietrantonio, and assistant coaches Marisa Camilleri and Samantha Tabone.
“Basketball instills team spirit and discipline among the participants. Although their level of play varies as some players are either beginners or in their second or third year, they learn to work for others as a team. They learn to increase their endurance, agility and speed. After a warm up session and set exercises, they practice their skills and enjoy the game at the end of each session,” said Marisa Camilleri.
KMS Skolasport is organised by Kunsill Malti ghall-iSport and sponsored by Kellogg’s, the world’s leading producer of breakfast cereal. KMS Skolasport offers training in various sports complexes and localities giving participants the opportunity to choose their favourite sport and place of training.
Kellogg’s is sponsoring KMS Skolasport for the tenth consecutive year as part of its commitment to promote physical activities and the importance of a balanced diet among the Maltese community.
