Double Standards

Malta Independent Sunday, 3 May 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

In answer to Cynthia Degiorgio’s letter “No double standards at St John’s (TMIS 19 April), let me explain why double standards are common practice at St John’s.

Ms De Giorgio, as the curator of the same Cathedral, should know very well that on the inauguration day of the new President, the sides (the parts between the end of the benches and the pillars) were not covered with any carpets and guests were returning to their places from communion tapping their pretty narrow heels over those uncovered parts. Or isn’t the entire floor covered with the unique inlaid marble tombstones?
