How Difficult it is for the leopard to hide its spots!

Malta Independent Sunday, 10 May 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 15 years ago

I read the article Daphne Caruana Galizia wrote about what is happening at Borg in-Nadur, as presented on Xarabank.

I must say that the part about Medjugorge struck me as being particularly well balanced and objective until I came to the last paragraph.

The reference to “a man wearing a frock and holding up a bit of rice paper in a fancy building (is) about to eat the real, actual flesh of another man who was the Son of God 2000 years ago”, struck me as uncalled for and shows her animosity against religion, besides showing disdain for the faith of millions of people.

It also labours under a contradiction because if, as she says, the Vatican is in the business of making people “believe in the supernatural and the irrational”, it should follow that it would be in favour of encouraging such things that are happening in Medjugorge rather than condemn them.

Hence, the whole article is nothing but a snide attack on a religion she holds in contempt.
