The Maltese do not have an “ignorant mentality”.

Reference is here made to the letter (Ignorant mentality, TMID, 9 May) by Simon Balzan from Dublin (we know it is in Ireland, we are not ignorant).

He said he came to this conclusion during the time spent in the pub during and after watching a Champions League game, while discussing at length with other Maltese friends about your editorial Bbq fever Malta (TMID, 5 May). Maybe he was having a few beers, maybe during a “happy hour”.

He should know very well what a happy hour is, buying beer at a reduced price, a special offer. In all the UK and in Dublin, this “happy hour” is frequented by many beer drinkers. And they all drink until they get drunk.

Is this by any chance called British or Dubliners ignorance? Is this not also buying something with a special offer like the BBQ set?
