There is a walkway between Marfa and the Cirkewwa Ferry Terminal which is very dangerous and I am dumbfounded as to why the minister responsible for works and public safety, not to mention the Mellieha local council have not done anything about it all.

This walkway serves as a walking trail which a lot of people use frequently. It makes for a very pleasant walk, very picturesque, close to the sea with a beautiful view of Comino and of Gozo. It makes a very popular walking and jogging trail for a lot of people.

But there are no railings whatsoever, and I also noticed that there are no ramps for the handicapped so they can get on and off the walkway when using wheelchairs.

The next time you are on the way to Cirkewwa or coming out of Cirkewwa please take the time to observe this walkway and you can see for yourself how dangerous it is without any safety railings. It’s a straight fall and someone can get really badly hurt or worse if he/she fell off.
