At an Extraordinary General Meeting of the GCIA Malta G.C. Branch, held on 7 May, a new branch Committee was duly elected and it now falls to me as the appointed Chairman to bring closure to three points in the correspondence of 12 and 19 April and 2 May which appeared in TMI.
At the EGM the members unanimously agreed:
(i) that the Malta Branch would remain an integral part of the GCIA,
(ii) that the branch unreservedly recognises Dr Michael Refalo as the Honorary President of the Association,
(iii) the appointment of branch founder Lt. Col. Antoine Pace Bonello MBE ED as branch Honorary President.
It is only right and proper that on behalf of the membership I thank the outgoing committee for its hard work and Major Stanley Clews MBE, MBIM, MIPM in particular for his steadfast dedication to the GCIA over the last 20 years.
It is the intention of the Malta branch to concentrate their efforts on achieving the constitutional “Aims of the Association”. First and foremost amongst those aims being “To honour the People of Malta, and those who fought on their behalf, by reuniting Members in a unique bond of friendship.” To ensure this end we will be cooperating fully with the GCIA Council and all branches of the Association. Should anyone wish to assist or participate as members of the association they would be most welcome and should contact the Membership Secretary, John Spiteri on 7700-3890 or Hon. Secretary Maureen Toll on 2157-7420.
