Sheffield Wednesday will be in action against local opposition in two mini-tournaments to be held at The Victor Tedesco Stadium in Hamrun.
The tournaments will be held on Monday 13 July and Thursday 16 July, and will consist of three mini-games og 45 minutes duration.
In the first tournament Sheffield Wednesday will take it up against Premier sides Floriana and newly promoted Dingli Swallows. The first match starts at 8pm.
The second tournament is for the Sliema Wanderers Centennial Cup, and Sheffield Wednesday will face Sliema Wanderers and Valletta.
The Citizens partecipation is doubt, depending on Valletta’s adventure in the Europa League. If Valletta manage to defend their first leg three-goal lead and qualify for the second round, Valletta’s place in the tournament will be taken by Birkirkara.
However the Stripes also have a chance to make to the next round after their good showing in Croatia against Slaven Belupo.
If both Valletta and Birkirkara qualify in the Europa League, the 16 July event will be a normal 90-minute match between Sliema Wanderers and Sheffield Wednesday.
