A delegation from RS2 Software recently attended Cards Middle East – the largest cards and payments conference and exhibition in the region – which was held at the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel, Dubai.

The RS2 delegation was composed of Chief Technical Officer Godwin Schembri, Business Systems Analyst from the RS2 Software Jordan office Qasem Lubani, Marketing Manager Angela Montanaro and Marketing Officer Gordon Borg.

Professionals attending the event included senior managers from banking, telecommunications, smart cards, computing and engineering, electronics and security industries. The combination of on-floor seminars and the specialised showcase area provided the perfect experience for essential information sharing and learning between industry professionals.

RS2’s Gordon Schembri was one of the speakers at the event’s seminar. Focusing on the topic “Automated Management”, Mr Schembri explained the benefits of automation.

“At a time when cost control is paramount, automation’s tremendous potential is often overlooked. The main benefit is that automation uses existing IT infrastructure and applications to speed up processing times, reduce operational errors, process after hours and prevent internal employee fraud,” he said.

He explained that in the card business, numerous processes can be automated, including reminders, letter generation, fraud monitoring, batch processes, reports, disputes, credit scoring and application processing, just to mention a few.

Mr Schembri outlined the products provided by RS2 Software’s suite of software solutions BANKWORKS. The modules provided by BANKWORKS include Card Issuing, Merchant Acquiring, Clearing and Settlement, On-Line Switch, POS Controller, ATM Management, Dispute Management, Instant EMV Issuing and Simulators.
