The Maltese national team will make its debut in the FIBA Europe Under 18 Division C championship in Ta’ Qali today against Luxembourg at 6.45pm.
The team under the guidance of national coach Sandro Farrugia has been preparing for this tournament for the last four weeks.
A very positive note is that out of the 12 players called up for this tournament, four were already in the team that two years ago won the gold medal in that year’s edition.
These are Steffi Demartino who also was in Pescara for the Mediterranean Games with the seniors’ team, Becky Naudi, Kristy Tonna and Justine Busuttil Gaerthy.
The other nations taking part in the tournament are Moldova, Gibraltar and Monaco.
