The comment about industrial action by teachers by Mr. (or whatever other title) is referred (TMIS 12-07-09, p. 12). Prima facie it presents itself as quite adequate case-study in Oedipus and Electra complexes for psychology undergraduates. But one could go alittle deeper, and there is not realy much to go. One just has to delete all the insipid attemps at sarcasm about teachers and replace them with comments about any other class of employee ranging from the most menial to the highest profesionist. Just imagine: ordering industrial action during a yuletide or mid-summer’s shutdown! Now the comment sticks out as totally anti-employee and pro-employer. Could and might singling out teachers indicate that the comment could well be an exercise at boot-licking education bosses maybe?

One wonders whether Mr. Calleja is an employer himself or at least very close to the vested interests of employers. No one, not even and insipidly laden procation could ever have any influence on the strategies, stragems and time-frames aimed at effectivity as decided upon by the democratically peer-elected leaders of any union, let alone the MUT.
