Zeus, the Greek restaurant in Xemxija has recently launched a new wine list which includes a number of award winning wines specially selected to pair with Greek food. Zeus opened five years ago and has since established a reputation for the utmost Greek culinary experience on the island.
The owner’s cellar selection is a treasure trove for wine lovers with award-winning wines such as the Casa Lapostolle Clos Apalta, which was recently named the top wine of the year by Wine Spectator, the super-Tuscan Camartina from Querciabella, always awarded the three glasses award by the Italian wine guide Gambero Rosso and only made by the winery in exceptional vintages. Other wines include the Villa Gemma from Masciarelli, the Dead Arm Shiraz from D’Arenberg as well as a special wine from New Zealand, the Tironui from the Tironui Estate in Hawkes Bay, which is owned by a family currently residing in Malta.
Apart from this selection of top-end wines, Zeus also has a number of other wines which have been selected for the quality-price ratio and with particular attention to the food that is served in the restaurant. The philosophy of the restaurant owners, Rose and Sandro, has been that of making the wine list as easy to use.
