I’m just wondering how long The Malta Independent is going to stand by this self opinionated columnist and her attacks on Astrid Vella (Daphne Caruana Galizia, 16 July)? Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and while I agree that she has as much right as anyone else to express it, her regular tirades obviously fuelled by jealously are becoming somewhat tiresome.

Just last week the paper allowed her to basically talk a load of rubbish regarding swine flu, which apart from being the obvious ranting of a non expert, were in my mind dangerous in that they amounted to misinformation.

I personally feel that it does the paper no favours to be associated with this woman at all and it certainly does the government no favours either. A case of with friends like her who needs enemies?
