Ciao Fra Wine and Local Tapas recently announced its relocation to Sliema, re-opening its doors to the public last week.

While retaining the warmth the old Ciao Fra was renowned for, a touch of elegance was added to the new venue.

“Needless to mention, our passion for wine and Mediterranean food remains,” said Ciao Fra co-owner David Darmanin. “Out of the 24 wines in the old wine list, we’re keeping many. But we’re also adding a further 20 carefully sourced selections.”

With regard to food, now that the establishment is no longer located at the water’s edge, its owners have decided to steer clear of offering an exclusively fish and seafood selection.

“After six solid months of research and adding more genuine suppliers to our list, we are now pleased to have drawn up a concept to complement a cosy Mediterranean atmosphere with a range of local tapas to be served along with your wine,” Darmanin said.

With an average of 12 different selections every evening, your hosts at the new Ciao Fra will keep bringing tapas to your table until you tell them to stop. The home-cooked range includes relishes, sausages, stews, dips, pates, aged cheeses, seafood, grilled skewers, stuffed vegetables and marinated meats among others.

“We have not stopped believing in considerate pricing,” he added. “The price per person for every serving of tapas will be kept at e3 per person.”

Ciao Fra Wine and Local Tapas is located in High Street, Sliema, a few doors down from Tower Supermarket car park. It is open every evening except Tuesdays from 8pm onwards. For further information please contact David Darmanin on 9945-8567.
