ICON has announced the launch of the new web portal for the Gozo Tourism Association, www.islandofgozo.org. The site is designed to promote Gozo as a holiday destination and showcases the myriad of attractions found on the island.

The website features a comprehensive catalogue of hotels, historical attractions, entertainment and commercial venues. A multimedia section offers glimpses of the many sites and sounds that draw so many visitors to the island’s shores.

One fundamental issue the Gozo Tourism Association took into consideration when planning the new website, was the capacity to ensure the portal was a reliable source of information and user-friendly. To this end they employed the services of web development company ICON, whose web technologies and creative designs have been instrumental in helping a number of companies become established on the internet.

The web portal for the Gozo Tourism Association uses ICON.snap, a content management system developed by ICON that allows designated employees to update and amend content as they see fit. The web module ICON.e-news was also integrated into the site. The feature allows for the creation of customized newsletters to keep subscribers informed of new events or website updates. In combination the two web solutions are ideal to ensure the web portal remains accurate and relevant for any person who visits it.
