Just out of the blue, it is fascinating to read a letter from a local council member to remind the residents and tourists in Qawra and Bugibba alike of the local council’s contribution and plans for the area, as if we have just woken up.

The fact that St Paul’s Bay, Xemxija and Burmarrad, which are in this council area of responsibility, were left out of this publicity stunt is beyond the residents of Qawra and Bugibba’s comprehension.

Would it be prudent to ask the Council if they are going to declare the total cost of the new toilets near Siren’s pitch in St Paul’s Bay, bearing in mind that the toilets in Bay Square Bugibba were closed and sold or leased to private enterprise to be replaced by two portable loos.

Was this done because the residents near the Siren’s Pitch have superior toilet requirements? The figure of Lm170,000 has been mentioned, which amount would have gone a very long way to repair some of the dangerous roads and pavements that we, the residents, along with our visitors have had to walk on for a long number of years. Why now?
