The CMTU is again trying to accommodate two gods. Let me remind it that its main interest is in defending the workers it represents. When it pulled out of the water and electricity tariffs discussions it made a disservice to its members.

To those who are now so eagerly requesting the removal of COLA to be substituted with productivity, I have a practical suggestion. If they really want to give an incentive to their workers to increase their efforts they should be prepared to give to the workers a percentage of their profits.

But I am sure they would say no deal. They just want the workers to suit their ends, to milk them and then squeeze them and throw them away when they don’t need them. Those times have passed, for your own sake don’t try to bring them back.
