Students attending training courses in Mon Lung Kung Fu have recently experienced another grading examination in this ancient and noble art of the dragon.
Students of different grades and classes were graded by the well known expert of kung fu sifu Charles Gaffiero, who is also the founder of kung fu in Malta. Both the theory and practice of the art were examined and the grading was witnessed by school officials sifu Noel Gatt, sifu Alan Bickle and sifu Mario Farrugia in the presence of student members attending training classes at the Mon Lung kwoon, 166 Manwel Dimech Street, Sliema.
Successful participants were awarded with sashes and certificates by sifu Gaffiero at a presentation held at the school premises at a later date.
Among these candidates, Daniel Portelli, a senior member of the kwoon, was examined and later awarded with a black belt first degree after successfully passing his final examination. In this examination Daniel had to specialize and demonstrate eight forms, defend against armed assailants, studies of vital points in human body and how to treat and help an injured person.

The Mon Lung Kung Fu school has made contact with numerous international martial arts organisations since its foundation in 1968, and has obtained membership with DKU (Germany), Fiam (Italy), AKA-AMA (UK), IKF (int.).
It is expected that later this year the school will be holding another examination for the prestigious Black Sash grade and the prospective candidate is at the moment training intensively to be ready for his final.
