With reference to letter by the executive secretary of St Paul’s Bay local council Rose Camilleri, (TMID 29 July), one has to congratulate the local council for the effort it is putting into its work.
However, one has to bring to the council’s attention the fact that a pedestrian crossing situated on the main Qawra Road just opposite Ta Gaetan restaurant and Il-Luzzu restaurant has for a long time been in need of attention.
The lines on the road’s surface have long faded out and the lights on the poles on each side of the crossing have been out of order for ages. It would be appreciated if the council takes note of the above and possibly remedy the situation as early as possible, before any serious accident happens.
