Bulgari Save The Children Campaign

Malta Independent Sunday, 2 August 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Italian jeweller Bulgari has launched a campaign to celebrate 125 years in the jewellery business. Bulgari is supporting Save the Children’s ‘Rewrite the Future’ campaign.

The firm plans to contribute ten million euro to the scheme, which aims to provide quality education for eight million children living in areas affected by conflict.

Bulgari has created a special silver ring and silver pendant engraved on the outside with the founders name, Sotirio Bulgari. On the inside of the ring and back of the pendant, the ‘Save the Children’ logo is engraved, as a reminder to its wearer of the jewel’s purpose. The choice of silver – unusual for Bulgari, which has long favoured gold – is a tribute to Sotirio Bulgari’s origins as a silversmith. The ring and the pendant are priced at e290 each, of which e50 of every purchase are donated towards the Save the Children campaign.

Willem Dafoe, Terrence Howard, Ben Stiller, Isabella Rossellini, Ginnifer Goodwin and many more celebrities have posed with the jewelry to draw attention to this cause.

CEO Francesco Trapani says, “I am convinced that, thanks to the help of our customers and Save the Children supporters, we will succeed in achieving – and hopefully in exceeding – the ambitious target we have set.”

These jewels will be available for sale in Bulgari stores until 31 December 2009. Sterling Diamonds is supporting the campaign and is the exclusive retailer for Bulgari in Malta. Sterling Diamonds outlets are located in Valletta, Sliema and Hilton – Portomaso. For further information please call 21234846.
