The Maltese seem to complain about everything all the time, but the interesting reality is that such concerns can be categorized under three main headings: Occasional; Seasonal; Perennial.

The Occasional concerns are usually about the loss of life, eg car accidents, demise of noted persons etc.

The Seasonal are concerns that revolve around the season, such as fireworks during the festa priod.

The Perennial are the easiest to discern - anything government does is invariably always wrong.

Some say that ‘variety is the spice of life’ and certainly spice is so liberally added to the Maltese ‘borma’ (pot), the contents are almost choking hot!

I hope that despite all this, the survivors are enjoying a great hot summer.
