Carmel Galea has been named new president of Birkirkara FC. He is the successor of Victor Zammit who led the club since 1996 and resigned before the annual general meeting some weeks ago.

Galea is a well known person in the Stripes surroundings, having been a former player, captain and coach.

He is the nephew of ex-Judge S. Camilleri, who had been Birkirkara FC president for 25 years.
