In your sister paper (TMID, 6 August) I read that Roger De Giorgio has filed an urgent request in the courts to extend the hours after he was granted a permit for an outdoor party up to 2am.

Roger De Giorgio wants the party to continue until 4am, and three lawyers filed the application. It is obvious the court’s decision will have been made by the time this letter is published.

Of course, the residents of Rabat, Dingli, Siggiewi, Zebbug and Attard too are invited to listen to his music for free up to 4am. When are these people going to understand that too much is too much?

The area was once peaceful farmland so typical of the Maltese countryside. Now, thanks to this disco, which has the support of the tourism authority, a road has been built and they have turned this area into a hell on earth for us.

I do speak to locals and they all complain but are afraid to speak up. So am I, but enough is enough.

I say make all the money you want but let us enjoy the land the good Lord gave us as we remember it – simple farmland, peaceful and delightful to walk in at night

One can say it is progress! I say progress my foot; it is only profit for the few and the rest treated like second-class citizens! No wonder come election time people show their frustration.
