The Palace celebrated its second anniversary with a big themed event entitled ‘Malta meets Asia’ where guests were hosted to a delicious fusion of Maltese and Asian food.

The activity was held on The Palace’s spectacular TemptAsian Terrace, situated on the ninth floor offering breathtaking views of Valletta on one side and Sliema / St Julian’s on the other.

Guests were welcomed by Angelo Xuereb, Chairman of AX Holdings and Claire Zammit Xuereb, Group Hospitality Director.

Distinguished guests included Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi, Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism Mario de Marco, Tourism Shadow Minister Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, former Minister for Tourism Francis Zammit Dimech, MTA’s CEO Mr Josef Formosa Gauci, Air Malta’s Commercial Director Brock Friesen and MHRA President Kevin de Cesare, as well as members of the local travel trade and business associates of AX Holdings.

The event also included the awards to the best performing companies in terms of room nights for 2008.

Cook UK represented by Rosanne Gauci.; Sunny Coast Resort Club to Aviation Seat Brokers represented by Martin Farrugia; The Victoria Hotel to Thos. Cook Germany also represented by Rosanne Gauci and The Palace to Holiday Malta UK represented by Ms. Carmen Penza.
