Through the years, many politicians associated with the Nationalist Party got away with it. Whatever it was, just because they happened to be in government, they thought they could literally get away with ‘murder’.
Only one man had the courage to admit his gross mistake and resign. Only one man decided to call it a day where politics was concerned and resign. Though people might point their finger at Victor Scerri, an icon in the Nationalis Party, I for one take my hat off to him for being noble enough and man enough to indirectly declare to all and sundry that resigning from his post was the only way open for him after the ‘Bahrija incident’. If only all politicians would take a leaf out of his book after they themselves behaved even worse than Victor Scerri.
