Brazilian forward Camilo Da Silva Sanvezzo, better known as Camilo, will be Qormi FC’s third foreigner this season after the Premier club officially announced his engagement at a media presentation yesterday..

Camilo, who is only 21, will partner Nigerian Alfred Effiong in Qormi’s attack. Qormi’s other foreigner is Brazilian defender Ramon Dos Santos, a former team mate of Camilo.

Sanvezzo has played for various clubs, like Oeste Paulista (Dos Santos’ former club) and Corinthians Alagono in Brazil.

Club president Matthew Fenech said that the Qormi committee took some time to decide on the Brazilian because they wanted to be sure about his qualities after some other foreign players were on trial with them in the last few weeks.

His signing for Qormi FC was possible through the financial help of Jesper’s Bakery, the club’s main sponsor this season.

In his comments to the media, Camilo admitted that although still early, he has had a fantastic welcome to the island from Qormi and the new environment fits him comfortably.

He is looking forward to his experience in Malta’s Premier League.

The Brazilian is expected to make his Qormi debut next Sunday against Sliema Wanderers.
