Attrans Expands its international operations

Malta Independent Sunday, 30 August 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Attrans International Transport, which has been operating from its depot and head office in Zebbug since 1976, has expanded its operations by launching Attrans BV, a freight forwarding and international transport operations based in Alblasserdam, Holland.

The international expansion and the necessity of having a regional operational base came about as a result of increasing business from the Benelux area to Malta, North Africa and beyond.

In fact, its core activities are international transport with Attrans-owned vehicles to Malta, Tunisia, Italy and the UK.

Other markets with fixed groupage departures are Turkey, Greece, Portugal, Scandinavia, Poland, Ukraine and other Eastern Europe destinations as well as the Middle East.

A segment of Attrans BV will concentrate on tailor-made engineered solutions for multinational companies that have supported Attrans Ltd Malta for several years and now are entrusting Attrans BV with both the movement of their cargo and also value added services.

The Benelux connection has enabled the Maltese enterprise to forge alliances with similar and larger companies, which makes it possible for all concerned to optimise each other’s operations in the various countries they operate.

Attrans now has a modern fleet of Volvo tractor units and a trailer fleet of well over 250 units and a multinational, experienced workforce managed by Philip J. Attard who is responsible for both the Malta and Dutch offices.
