Waterpolo: Malta Starts with 6-4 win over Switzerland

Malta won its first game of the tournament yesterday against Switzerland with the score of 6-4. The scorers for the Malta team were Jonathan Valletta (1), Paul Privitera (1) and two goals each by John Soler and Steve Camilleri one of which from a penalty.

The session scores: 2 -1, 0-1, 1-1, 3-1. Goalkeeper Josie Cachia was in great form and had an excellent game inspiring his team-mates to victory.

The Malta team led by Sergio Afric is made up of the following players:

Josie Cachia, Niki Lanzon, Jerome Gabaretta, Paul Privitera, Mark Meli, John Soler, Steve Camilleri, John Brownrigg, Clint Debono, Jonathan Valletta, Matthew Pisani, Michele Stellini, Alan Borg Cole.

Malta will play again today at 4.30pm against Poland.
