Zejtun Corinthians have merged with Zejtun Red Stars and are now looking forward towards a successful season in the MFA Third Division.

Addressing a news conference yesterday, John Bugeja, former Sliema W secretary, and now president of Zejtun C., presented the club’s players and explained what were his team’s ambitions for this new season.

He said he was finding cooperation from all quarters in the running of the club and went on to thank Albert Mifsud, president of Zejtun Red Stars who worked hard towards the amalgamation of the two clubs.

He added their aim was to have a strong club as such a big town as Zejtun deserved something much better in local football. Their main target for this season will be promotion.

Zejtun Red Stars will not be taking part in the MAFA league the coming season, but did not exclude taking part in future championships of the same association.
